Introduction to Yoga: Beginners Series Classes
Offered in rotation by some of Samara Yoga’s most seasoned teachers, this series is intended as an entry-point for students who are brand-new to yoga and want to start right at the beginning, or for those with some experience who want to spend more time on the foundations of yoga practice. The series will introduce the fundamentals of alignment, breathing and mindfulness in foundational yoga postures and will lay the basic groundwork for students to comfortably step into our drop-in classes.
Upcoming Series Dates:
Sundays, October 22-November 12, 3-4:30pm – $70 – with Nicoline Valkenberg – Register Online
Nicoline is known for thoughtful and effective asana sequencing, clear instruction and her nurturing presence. She has been a yoga teacher in the Boston area since 2005 and opened Samara Yoga in 2010, where she enjoys cultivating a dedicated yoga space with some of her best friends and colleagues, in her favorite community of Somerville, MA. Her classes are structured in a Vinyasa Flow format, but incorporate more slowed-down, methodical alignment training and mindfulness techniques aimed at deepening body awareness, meditative focus and cultivating more understanding- to contribute to a deeper calm from which we can live our lives with more access to our essential wellbeing.
She completed her 200hr teaching certification through Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, has attended trainings with Shiva Rea in Prana Vinyasa Flow and has studied locally over the years with many of Boston’s senior teachers, of which the most influential on her teaching style are Barbara Benagh and Fez Aswat.
