As a Vinyasa Yoga practitioner and teacher, Nicoline approaches her practice as embracing a state of flow. Our inner world is in constant flux, as our thoughts, needs and impulses react to the ever changing river of circumstances that surround us. We often resist the natural flow of life within and around us and become stagnant in our bodies, minds, and spirits- closed off to our own internal compass. For Nicoline, Vinyasa is the practice of jumping into the river and navigating its currents. She has come to know that by finding steadiness within fluidity on the mat, we can learn to ride the waves of life with composure and grace- and enjoy the ride!

Nicoline’s classes are a seamless blend of dymanic flow and technique. Through a unity of fluid movement and alignment, she gives her students the space to trust their own rhythm and the foundations on which to lay that trust- helping them find freedom, mobility and a more embodied sense of Self.

Nicoline completed the 200 hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training under Yoganand Michael Carroll. She is now working towards completing her 500 hour Prana Flow Yoga training with Shiva Rea, and is drawing from regular teacher-level study with Barbara Benagh. She has been surprised and delighted by the direction the current has recently swept her in founding Samara Yoga- and is thrilled to be creating a dedicated yoga space with some of her dearest friends and fellow teachers right in her home community of Somerville, MA.

From that first class, he didn’t know what hit him but he kept going back to find out. What initially felt more like a physical endeavor challenged his mind, heart…and life.

Vito is inspired to teach in order to share this healthy, powerful, healing and evolutionary practice. He teaches themed sequences, while maintaining a strong connection to breath, core and safe alignment to inspire a sustainable practice — and never taking things too seriously.

Vito’s teaching is inspired by his trainings, continuous studies and workshops. Vito’s trainings include: 200 hour Yoga Works Teacher Training certification with Natasha Rizopoulos; trainings with Seane Corn and Ana Forrest; Baptiste Assistant training; and multiple anatomy and therapeutics courses. Vito voluntarily teaches gentle/chair yoga to the Residents of the Little Sisters of the Poor (where he previously managed volunteers and grants).

She has a comprehensive vinyasa yoga training from both ends of the spectrum: Kripalu Yoga and Baptiste Power Yoga. Like a pendulum, Kristen’s teaching style has settled somewhere in the middle, between the calm of Kripalu yoga and the fire of Baptiste Power Yoga. Her classes include centering, pranayam, asana, and meditation with a core focus on cultivating deep internal awareness and a sense that everything is already ok. Kristen is currently working toward a 500-hour Kripalu Yoga certification, and is preparing to apply to Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology. Kristen teaches courses in Yoga for Musicians and is currently involved with yoga research studying how yoga can help military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Kristen’s principal teachers are Stephen Cope and Barbara Benagh; she has also studied with and is grateful for the influences of Baron Baptiste, Paul Grilley, Coeli Marsh, Tim Miller, and Sarah Powers.

Jane Cargill is a Boston native. Throughout high school and college, she ran track and played soccer. Through soccer she had the opportunity to travel within the states and overseas which lead to her fascination in different cultures and cultural expressions. As a result, she studied Cultural Anthropology at State University at Stony Brook which fed her captivation in people and culture. She hopes to use what she has learned experientially through travel and her willingness to dive into new environments as a way of making a difference in her life and the lives around her.

Jane’s first experience with yoga was in the summer of 2001. After many years of rigorous physical activity, her body began to speak loudly in the form of bursitis in both hips. She chose to seek an alternative form of exercise; something challenging, yet low impact which would satisfy her craving for movement. She fell in love with yoga that very first day on her mat! What she didn’t anticipate was the new-found freedom through expression and acceptance that is inherent in the yogic process. She continues to nurture that relationship with herself through daily practice, and sharing it with others by teaching.

Her intent is to teach freedom through the joy of movement and connection to Source. She feels compelled and honored to lead and share the practice that has liberated her and brought her “home”. She hopes to inspire students to embrace their uniqueness, express their gifts, expand their mind, and find their JOY.

Jane is currently a full-time instructor and actively volunteers for YogaHope, a non-profit yoga organization dedicated to bringing yoga to under-served women in the Boston.

In 2001-2003 she lived in Siddha Yoga meditation centers in Oakland, California, and in Ganeshpuri, India, where she met John Friend and began training in Anusara Yoga. She currently studies formally with philosophers Dr. Douglas Brooks and Professor Paul Muller-Ortega; this work informs her classes, which include students from ages 5 to 80 years old. With over 1000 hours of training and four years of full time teaching in Northern California, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, and Cambridge, MA, Elizabeth brings a rich understanding of the biomechanics of the body, a strong meditation practice, and the desire for all students to align with their own innate freedom. Her classes are fun, dynamic, and strong. Her lightheartedness is contagious; students move easily to the next level of practice.
